The concert dedicated to the 204th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birthday was held on March 19th in the the Ivano-Frankivsk regional philharmonic hall. Taras Shevchenko has become a symbol for the Ukrainian nation. It was a celebration of music, dancing, singing and recital.

 During the event medical students of  Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University read poems and sang song of Taras Shevchenko as well as performed folk dances. It is so good to see the young generation continuing the traditions of their parents.

Arsen Vitretskyi was a star of the concert. His beautiful voice and artistic performance never stop surprising and enchanting. Arsen has sung the famous song by Taras Petrynenko "Ukraine".

Students of the Department of Foreign Citizens Training also took part in the concert. Everybody’s heart was moved by two foreign students, Ogbonna Uchechukwu Ohije (3rd course) and Aidan Mamedova (5th course), reciting Taras Shevchenko’s poem and singing song. 

Professor Hanna Ersteniuk, First Pro-Rector, Doctor of Biological Sciences, made a short but very focussed speech welcoming everybody and reminding how important celebration of Taras Shevchenko’s anniversaries were for our university. Prof. Hanna Ersteniuk concluded the event by thanking everybody involved in its preparations and delivery.
