Indian students have celebrated Diwali, festival of lights on Friday, October 20th. The event was organized by the foreign students of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University.

Students from other countries, lecturers, representatives of the administration and of the dean's office of the department of foreign citizens training were present at the holiday.

In addition to a traditional Indian meal, the celebration have included different cultural performances. Foreign students sang also the Ukrainian songs.

"Diwali is our national holiday, the festival of lights and joy,- says Dzhuhinda Shin, a fifth-year student. - No matter where we are, we still celebrate this holiday."

"We have been preparing for a long time,- says Anurah Chakraborti, a sixth-year student. – The representatives of our dean's office helped us. And we are very grateful to them. I'm currently studying my final year, therefore it was very important to me to organize this celebration ".

"Indian students traditionally celebrate Diwali at our university, - says Serhii Kobets. - This celebration is held according to Indian traditions therefore we find that very interesting".
