The Department of Anatomy of the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University has received a unique piece of equipment - a multimedia anatomage table from the Czech Republic.

The new 3D device was received within the framework of the project "Supply of anatomical tables for medical universities in Ukraine". The anatomage table allows medical and anatomy students to investigate the human body by virtually dissecting it. There are only 2 of these state-of-the-art tables in Ukraine, and IFNMU is lucky to be amongst the recipients.

Our university members have been trained how to use the anatomage table in the Czech Republic. The training was held at the Institute of Postgraduate Education in Prague.

The anatomage table was delivered to IFNMU thanks to the Czech company Cheiron a.s.

"This is a great achievement that opens up a lot of opportunities. Such a table is useful not only in the study of human anatomy, but also in any other discipline,” Oksana Popadynets, Head of the Department of Human Anatomy noted.

Within the framework of the programme, the idea of providing medical education institutions of Ukraine with modern anatomage tables was implemented. More Ukrainian universities, including Uzhhorod National University, have been provided with this kind of equipment from the benefactors. Such an anatomage table costs approximately five million hryvnias.

An innovative anatomage 3D table has a programme, wich includes 4 human bodies: two male and two female – two bodies are healthy, the other two have certain pathologies. The new teaching tool will allow the body and the relationship of structures within it to be visualised in great detail.
