25 first-year anesthesiologist intern doctors who are undergoing a 3-year internship training, the peculiarity of which is the absence of division into adult and pediatric specialization, successfully completed their full-time studies.
Traditionally, the intermediate certification consisted of a computer test, proving practical skills and passing theoretical part.
Certification was preceded by master classes held twice a week and devoted to the most important aspects of the anesthesiologist’s work. In particular, intern doctors attended the following master classes:
Assessment of nociception-analgesia using ANI-monitoring;
Cerebral oximetry in anesthesiology and intensive care;
Airway management: modern possibilities of maintaining oxygenation and ventilation;
Non-invasive respiratory support in acute and chronic respiratory failure;
Video laryngoscopy in planned and emergency anesthesiology;
Anesthetic support in tactical conditions;
Intraoperative monitoring of the depth of anesthesia: from BIS to SedLine;
Express study of gas composition of blood and hemocoagulation.
It is important to mention that educational work of the department in providing the latest anesthetic devices has been supported for many years by our USA colleagues who graduated from Ivano-Frankivsk Medical Institute in 1992 - Svitlana and Ivan Hrynishyn.
Thanks to their help, students, intern and trainee doctors are able to learn new practical skills and maintain better conditions for providing medical care. In particular, the Hrynyishyns have provided the department with a set of video laryngoscopes "KingVision" recently.
A significant contribution to the material and technical support of the department with consumables and devices, which are widely used both for the daily training of students, intern and trainee doctors, and for treating seriously ill patients, has been made by Liudmyla Andriishyn, an anesthesiologist, the founder of the palliative and hospice care service in Prykarpattia.
Thanks to her efforts, patients who need non-invasive ventilation support are provided with the latest models of face masks, viral-bacterial filters and CPAP devices. Moreover, students and intern doctors have the opportunity to master samples of modern equipment.
