On September 25th an online meeting took place on the ZOOM platform involving participants of the II phase of the Ukrainian-Swiss project "Medical Education Development" aimed at supporting the development of medical education in Ukraine.

 The event was attended by the Project Leader and Senior Public Health Expert, as well as the Acting Head of the Telemedicine and Healthcare Technology Department at the Swiss Center for International Health Martin RAAB, the Project Office Manager in Ukraine Tetiana CHERNYSH, the Medical Education Coordinator Olena IHNASHCHUK along with their respective teams and representatives of higher education institutions. Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University (IFNMU) was represented by the Acting First Vice-Rector Andrii HRYTSYK, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work (International Relations) Mariia HRYSHCHUK, the Dean of the Medical Faculty Roman YATSYSHYN, the Coordinator from the higher education institution Oryna DETSYK and the contact person Tetiana MIZIUK.

During the meeting key organizational aspects were defined. The primary direction and goal of the cooperation are the exchange of expertise among educators at regional, national, and international levels as well as the integration of acquired skills into the educational process. Activity plans for the first year of the II phase of the project were discussed. Special attention was given to the need to emphasize general practice, Family Medicine at the pregraduate level, support for student initiatives, and the importance of humanity and empathy in developing communication competencies. Possible forms of activities were identified, including online courses, offline events, courses for educators, and the development of manuals. Improving medical education is the main and top-priority objective of this collaboration.

The team from the Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University is eagerly looking forward to the start of active cooperation, the exchange of ideas, and the implementation of educational initiatives.
