The Medical Board of California has determined that Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Ukrainian and Russian language programs, meet the criteria for recognition pursuant to California Code of Regulations. It means that graduates of IFNMU, Ukrainian and Russian programs are now eligible to apply for a California Postgraduate Training Authorization Letter (PTAL) or a Physician's and Surgeon's Certificate.
The mission of the Medical Board of California is to protect health care consumers through the proper licensing and regulation of physicians and surgeons and certain allied health care professions and through the vigorous, objective enforcement of the Medical Practice Act, and to promote access to quality medical care through the Board's licensing and regulatory functions.
The Board will add Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University, Ukrainian and Russian language programs to its list of recognized medical shools on the Board's Web site: http://www.mbc.ca.gov/applicant/schools_recognized.html
